The purpose of the Department of Building Standards is to ensure safe construction of new buildings and maintenance of existing buildings in the Village of Bradley. This is accomplished through inspections and enforcement of Bradley’s building, electrical, plumbing, fire and mechanical codes.

The Building Department is responsible for issuing permits, plan review, implementing and enforcing Zoning Ordinances, subdivision ordinances, flood plain management ordinances and also coordinates the work of the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Building Department, with the support of the Village Engineer, Village Attorney, Police, Fire, Public Works Departments and elected officials, can protect the public safety and welfare of the community and sustain the long term investment in the community by property owners and businesses.
